Flash Preview Preparation Guidelines

Flash Preview Preparation Guide
This article contains instructions on preparing your file for submission to ActiveDen. For help with our upload process —including how to format your submission title, tags and description— view our item upload guide.

  1. Your main .swf must be named "preview.swf" (case sensitive).
  2. Note: Encrypting your own preview.swf can save time and reduce risk. If you do encrypt your own preview.swf, be sure to say so in the notes to the reviewer.

  3. If you’re not uploading a fullscreen preview, your preview.swf must be 590x300px.

  4. If you are uploading a fullscreen preview, name your html page "index.html" (case sensitive).
  5. Note: If your preview.swf can’t show the true functionality of your file, fake it. For example, if your file is a preloader, you could make the preview a looping animation rather than an actual, working preloader.

Note: Previews may not use PHP or any other server-side script. If your file calls dynamic content from a database, call static content for the preview.

  6. Zip up all the preview files and name it "preview.zip". Upload it as your Preview Source.
