How to upload using FTP

Envato now supports the uploading of files to the Marketplaces via FTP. This article outlines the FTP process step by step, to ensure that your upload is easy, quick and smooth

Envato supports uploading files to the marketplaces via FTP. For authors uploading large files, this means faster and more reliable uploads, and the ability to queue up multiple files to upload.

You will need to install an FTP client to follow this process. We recommend FileZilla.  

1. Open your FTP client and enter the following details:
   Host: ftp.marketplace.envato.com
   Username: [your marketplace username]
   Password: [your marketplace API key]
   Port: 21
   Click 'Connect' or your FTP client equivalent. 
2. Drag your files (formatted to the requirements of the relevant marketplace, for more information see our Upload Instructions) into the upload area of the FTP client. Do not place your files in the folder marked "bulk_import". 
3. Wait for your files to process, and then close your FTP client. 
    
4. Go to your Marketplace author dashboard and navigate to the upload page. Your files will be there waiting, ready to be entered into the upload form and submitted.
   
    

Note: All FTP uploads will only stay in the system for 24 hours, at which point they are automatically removed. Make sure you submit your item for review within 24 hours of beginning the FTP upload process. 

If you experience any issues with the FTP upload process, contact Support with the details of your attempted upload, including the operating system and the FTP client you are using and the error you experienced.
